Holi & Dhuleti 2027 in Surat: Parties & Events

Holi 2027 is on Monday 22 March, with Holika Dahan on the evening of Sunday 21 March, according to Drik Panchang. In Gujarat the day of colours is called Dhuleti. The night before, neighbourhoods across Surat light Holi bonfires at street corners and society grounds, and families walk around the fire with offerings of coconut, dhani (popped sorghum), dates and chana. On Dhuleti morning the city plays colours in housing societies and on the streets until around midday. Ticketed celebrations have grown on top of that: farm venues, party plots and hotel lawns around Vesu, the Dumas Road and Piplod sell entry to Holi events with DJs, dhol, rain dances, colours and food stalls, usually from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. They are alcohol-free, as Gujarat is a dry state. Municipal attractions shut for the day: the Science Centre, the Surat Fort and the aquarium all list Dhuleti among their closed holidays. The holiday falls on a Monday in 2027, so expect a three-day weekend and heavier traffic towards Dumas. Confirmed Holi parties are usually announced from late February.
