Things to do in Katargam
1 events in katargam across Surat β mostly festival (1).
Katargam, north of the old city, mixes diamond units, embroidery workshops and dense housing. Just outside the old Katargam gate are Surat's English, Dutch and Armenian cemeteries, where rival trading companies of the 17th century built mausoleums borrowing Hindu and Islamic forms; they are protected monuments and a key stop on any heritage walk, though photography is not allowed inside. The rest of the area's calendar is community-led, with society garba at Navratri, temple programmes and school-ground exhibitions. BRTS corridors run from Katargam Darwaja to Kosad and from Gajera Circle to Jahangirpura, and the railway station is a short bus or auto ride south.
