Things to do in Ghod Dod Road

Ghod Dod Road is one of central Surat's main shopping streets, a short distance inland from Athwalines. Its showrooms sell jewellery, sarees and festive wear, so it is busiest in the weeks before Diwali and through the wedding season, and its cafés and restaurants take small workshops and meet-ups. Kavi Narmad Central Library, the municipal corporation's main public library, named after the Surat-born poet Narmad, is on this road. Events here are mostly retail-led: store launches, pop-up exhibitions and festive sales. Parking is tight in the evenings, so an auto is usually the simpler way to arrive.
