Things to do in City Light

City Light, between Athwalines and Bhatar, is a residential and shopping district best known for the Science Centre on City Light Road. The Surat Municipal Corporation complex, opened in 2009, has hands-on science galleries, a 140-seat planetarium, an art gallery for temporary shows, a 260-seat auditorium and a 250-seat amphitheatre used for talks, small concerts and school programmes. Community halls in the area, Maheshwari Bhavan among them, are booked for lifestyle and wedding exhibitions ahead of the festive season. It suits a half-day out with children; remember that the Science Centre is closed on Mondays. Sitilink city buses run along City Light Road.
