Majura Gate is the junction where central Surat's Ring Road meets the roads to Athwalines, Udhna and the railway station. The Ring Road east of it is the city's textile trading belt, a line of wholesale markets selling sarees and dress material to buyers from across India. Events here are business-led: buyer-seller meets, trade delegations and the pre-festival wholesale rush. Majura Gate is also planned as the first interchange between the two Surat Metro corridors, linking them with the railway station, city buses and the GSRTC depot, so expect construction diversions. The BRTS to Sachin starts at nearby Udhna Darwaja.
