Things to do in Athwalines

Athwalines is central Surat's civic and cultural strip, running beside the Tapi from Athwagate towards Parle Point. The Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium, a centrally air-conditioned arena opened in 1998, takes the city's arena concerts, indoor sport and big conventions. Tara Moti Hall on the MTB College campus, opposite Chowpatty, hosts music, poetry and theatre; Vanita Vishram Ground at Athwagate is used for exhibitions; and the Surat Marriott at Ambika Niketan holds wedding and designer shows. Colleges, courts and the riverside garden keep the road busy all day. Sitilink buses run along the main road and autos are plentiful.
