About Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium
The Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium is Surat's main indoor arena, owned and run by the Surat Municipal Corporation. It was inaugurated on 18 December 1998 by the then chief minister, Keshubhai Patel, and the corporation says it was built entirely from its own funds. The hall is centrally air-conditioned around a 63 m by 33 m arena and seats about 6,800. It is equipped for volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, handball, gymnastics, boxing and wrestling, with players' rooms and commentary boxes, and it doubles as the city's main covered arena for concerts, fashion shows, conventions and exhibitions. TEDxSurat was held here in October 2018, and a date on Sachin–Jigar's 'Apna Bana Le' tour was listed here for December 2026.
