About Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU)
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University is the state university for South Gujarat, with its campus on the Udhna–Magdalla Road. It is named after Narmad, the 19th-century Gujarati poet and reformer from Surat. Beyond academic conferences, convocations and youth festivals, the campus hosts the Surat LitFest, organised by the Surat Literary Foundation. The 2027 edition is listed for 8–10 January 2027 with free entry by registration, more than 40 speakers, a 'Bharat@2047' forum, book releases, and Gujarati folk music and dance programmes each evening from 6 pm. Public events use different halls and lawns across a large campus, so note the building named on your registration. Sitilink route 706 runs between the university and Jahangirpura.
